Carribean Orient - In space!

Great music, i really loved the percussions with lots of woodblock, and the happy-trippy bass. Actually, I also loved the synths, sitars, guitars,... Pretty much everything! :D

It really does mix tropical, oriental and somewhat space-like sounds, which is definitely an interesting combination worth hearing. It would probably best be used as a background loop for a platform action game (i suppose, this is it's purpose), but in that case I would suggest the removal of the bass slide-in/out at the end, because it would loop right into the same sound at the beginning.

Apart from being a piece written primarily for a video game, it has a very cool, chill-out mood, and would be a good choice for anyone trying to kick back and take a break from his work with a relaxing song.

I really liked it, I hope to see the game on the portal in the soon future! Good work!

Three thumbs up!

Slight improvements? Sounds really good!

My opinion hasn't changed- it's a great futuristic song with a very good beat. The slide-ins are still very sci-fi and groovy. Very intense, would be a good background track for a skate video or something similar.

Well, I liked it before, and I like it now! Keep on being creative!

P.S. Cyberpunk really is a genre, but a genre in movies and literature! XD

starspawn responds:

lol a few. i'll have to look into some cyberpunk sutff in that case :D skate videos have such good music! (been skating for 5 years) thanks for the review again :)

Groovy

Really cheerful and bouncy, i really liked the way the bells filled-in the guitar rythm section. All of the sounds fit in perfectly, and not one of them was 'over the top'.

It was very catchy and fun to listen to. Also, from time to time it left the impression of being a theme-song for some weird family sitcom. :P

Anyway, i had a good time (well, a good minute and 53 seconds, anyway :D) listening to it.

Oh, and i know you like to write stuff like this in reviews, so here you go:

OMG WuZ IT A FUNnY WTF LOLZORZ g00d WRK!!!111

Really good song!

Wow, i didn't know i had a soft spot for soft rock. XD

Reminded my a bit of Coldplay, even though it was a lot better, more lively and guitar-oriented than their work. Personally, i loved the slow intro, and the cut-out feel it had, similar to the beginning of 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots pt. 1' by The Flaming Lips. It is good to see that not all songs on the portal start with a straight-out classical beginning. Really liked it, but it has the feel of a song that would require some vocals to be 100% done. Just my opinion.

The instruments were well composed, and every one of them had a significant role in the build of this song. Actually, that is what makes this song beautiful.

Great work, keep it up!

Musical-Pants responds:

Thanks, I think that having a production time of a month, rather than a few days, helped this one a lot.
Lyrics are a real possibility, if I could just find someone to record them!
Appreciate the review, I consider this to be my best song yet.

Freaky and trippy

Dude, this is pure psychedelia. After looping it for a minute or two, i had that beautiful brain vacuum feeling that can only be the result of wonderfully meaningless and random song like this one. It is bizzarelly amusing, and it has the potential to become a favorite among artists attempting to create random humor flash movies. Great piece of work, but maybe you should cut down on the stuff you were on when the concept for this came to your mind. XD Cheers!

Rossplosion responds:

Woohoo! This is actually the result of four bored friends and a computer. No drugs involved!

Thanks for the 10/10 though! Theres more to come. :D

Interesting

Cool song, even though it does get a bit repeating. However, it is among the rare dance submissions on the portal that doesn't fit in the same mold as the others. It is slightly more cheerful (even tough it isn't exactly a happy song), and has an interesting percussion section. Also, i liked the synth whistle-ish sound at the beginning.

Meaning- it could be improved, but it is already a good piece of work.

vadnoise responds:

cool review man,thanks

Powerful, but melodic

The melodies of the piano are great, the beat is really mighty, when the bass came in it was cool and then the synths made me have an epileptic attack of joy! Beautiful song, you really succeeded in making a 'lyrical' melody, it truly does feel as though the piano is telling a story. If I had to object, it would be about the slightly too cut-off ending, but if that was your idea, then great.

To sum this up: beautiful melodies, powerful beat and an over-all great song!

Bring on the beat!

This song has a Madness music feel to it. You don't happen to be a fan of cheshyre or API, do you? ;D

OK, enough of endorsing NG audio artists- it's cool, somewhat mysterious, in a 'contract killer' sort of way. Liked the bass (I really DIG IT) and the staccato synths. It has an interesting atmosphere, something between the themes of 'undercover mission' and ultra-violence.

Good, and very interesting. One thumb and three quarters up.

lol man thats too funny cuz i love madness combat so BAD and your totally right after i listened to it after you said that i notised it aswell. Thankx for the rating

First work?

Man, no offense, but you can't play the entire 'Green Greens' in 8th notes!

Where's the rythm? At first, i didn't even recognize the song. You got the notes right, but without distinguishing their length, you don't get the song you wanted- the result is just a bunch of unconnected notes. I guess you should just keep on working on this. The idea is good, but you'll just have to try a little harder.

Don't give up on this! Just fix the problems and resubmit, i'm sure it will turn out good!

carl565 responds:

thanks dude, its not my first project, i've made 3 more. i won't quit on this, and i did only spend 10 minutes on this, i just thought it was good enough to post cause i didnt want to finish it right away. like i said thanks.

New-school trashy

I found the riffs good enough to make it decent within the thrash genre (don't get me wrong, i like thrash, but most bands can't exactly brag about being innovative). Liked the blastbeat, really didn't see that coming.

As for the sound, I suggest you set the amp (or Guitar Rig, whichever you use) to a high treble (say 8-9), mid to a maximum of 3, and leave the bass at about 55% of the treble. This should give you a much sharper sound, making notes a lot clearer (a high gain level also helps).

Anyway, good one, keep it thrashing!

PENTAhazardous responds:

No problem, man...
I like this tunes to be mengeled, that's why I'm upping them... maybe someone comes with a good advice or an interesting idea.
The sound sucks in my opinion... I'm trying to get it more realistic but... it will never sound like a real guitar... and I'm using FL Studio...
I'll see what I can do on this song... and with some plugins... other then the ones from FL.

I write music. You listen to music. What a strange coincidence, isn't it?
