This chick has gone funky!

Really psychedelic song, man. I loved the acid-bass and its funky melodic lines! Great use of synth sounds, excellent drum section and overall groovy goodness!

Absolutely brilliant!

daveisnow00 responds:

Thanks mate =D Every loves abit 'o groovyness!

Bluesy trance!

Really cool song, I liked it a lot! The sounds were very colorful, loved the arpeggios, the drums could have been a bit more detailed, but I guess that isn't necessary. Anyway, really good work!

Strange, in a good way

Really liked the unusual choice of sounds you made, it really is a good song with that 'Look, I just ran away from a lunatic asylum and I want to party' feel. XD

Very interesting to listen to, I believe it could be used in a variety of games and toons. Good work!

Delerion responds:

Thanks for the nice words. I like making and messing around with strange sounds. The weirder the better :D

Interesting

This song has a very interesting and well-developed percussive section, but I would suggest turning the other instruments down a few points, they tend to be a little loud. The piano part was really nice, it was a good concept to use it as a background for a sunset-scene. Except for the loudness, it was really good!

Joobles responds:

Thanks for the review =D Although too loud? You should listen to my last two songs. They'll knock you off your ass =p

Cool

Another good one, cazok! This is grade-A video game material. Good to see you haven't given up on the organ. :D

I think you've really done a good job with the dual guitar solos/fills. The bluesy drum beat at the beginning was very groovy and made the entry of the double-kick at 0:36 much more powerful. Truly a mighty song, good work. Then again, I wouldn't expect any less from you. :D

Cheers!

Great

Another great song, I must say it is a brilliant boss-battle theme song. However, I believe that the slow part sort of reduced the intensity of the entire song. Loved your guitar melody lines. I don't think you should cut down on the organ if you find its sound to your liking. If it is a vital part of your composing style, you should stick to it, as any musician should use the sounds that suit him best. Good work!

cazok responds:

If this was meant to be used in a video game, the slower part of the song would indeed take away some intensity. However, if it was to be used in a movie the part could for example be used as a short break where the two opposing sides could talk to each other before they advanced at each other once again.

Great rmx

Masterfully done! You really caught the idea of the original, but gave it more than enough of your own touch. Loved all the sounds, but i especially liked the voice sample saying 'IMPOSSIBLE'. Great work, another one for the favorites!

Jamaica. ON DRUGS!

Great song, I really liked the trippy slap-like sound which continues throughout the song. The steel drums are a really good addition to any tropical song, but it seemed to me as though they were a bit fuzzy from 0:41-0:49. Really cool summer song, I had fun listening to it.

NibzAU responds:

no seriously... the whole sound thing is NG's i recoreded it at 128kb sounds awesome.. but newgrounds made it sounds horrible like lower quality or something

Send error report? Y/N/XD

Great song, really liked it, I think it used the capabilities of the XP sounds to the maximum. I heard a similar entry on the portal quite a while ago, but this one was a whole lot better! I don't see a lot of similarities with DKC3, and I played it A LOT. Anyway, loved the heavier part at 0:29, it was really cool. Good work!

BriGuy92 responds:

Hey thanks, you've just affirmed that not all of my work is crap after all! Honestly, all of my other songs (of which not many even get past playing on the piano) aren't all that great. I hope to make some better music now that I've discovered ModPlug, because Anvil Studio doesn't even compare.

Medieval

Really good medieval song, it reminds me of the background music in the works of Adam Phillips. It was very well composed, loved the way the guitar and flute enhanced each others melody. The percussions gave it a very forest-like, folkish feel (which was also caused by the choice of instruments). Great work, I really enjoyed listening to it!

linkbryan1126 responds:

thank you, i had started this but only had the flute and guitar in the beggining, and then when i couldnt sleep i just went inspiration nuts, im glad it turned out well enough for people to enjoy it

I write music. You listen to music. What a strange coincidence, isn't it?
