Hades's News

Posted by Hades - November 25th, 2008

Well, the dead-line has come and gone, and most of the Aura sections have been completed (actually, the Fab submission is a bit belated due to some technical problems). I must say that all of the groups have really done a great job on their stuff, especially seeing that a whole bunch of artists from each group had to fit in the group's two minute limit, which is quite a stressful thing to work with. This resulted with five sections (well, four, for now), each around two minutes long. You can check out the submissions following these links (in order of completion):

Neutral part: Teh Neutral Collab (caps!!!)
Dark part: Aura of Darkness
Evil part: Evil collab Final mix
Light part: Light Aura FULL MIX
Fab part: Pending...

You'll see that truly, every group had their own view on how this thing should be done, which resulted with five (four) excellent, and completely unique sections.

As for the progress of the collab in general: currently, we're all waiting on the final piece to be submitted so we can get some able-bodied flashers to work on their ideas of how the whole thing could be animated. Of course, first we'll have to mix everything together, but more about that later.

To check out (or even join in) the general discussion, check out the Main Aura Collab Discussion thread. All comments are welcome, as we need a whole lot of ideas to make this as kickass as possible!

OK people, here are the rules of the Aura Collab for the time being:

EACH AND EVERY OF THE INDIVIDUAL AURA GROUP HAS UNTIL MIDNIGHT (00:00, NG TIME) NEXT SATURDAY (THE 18th) TO DO A VOTING FOR THEIR THREAD LEADER. THE LEADER IS THEN TO DECIDE WHICH PEOPLE ARE IN THE COLLAB, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THAT NO GROUP CAN MAKE OVER 2 MINUTES (120 SECONDS, FOR THE PEOPLE THAT REALLY SUCK AT MATH) OF MUSIC. THAT WAY, THE ORDER AND TIME GIVEN TO EVERY PARTICIPANT IS TO BE DECIDED SEPARATELY WITHIN EVERY GROUP.

Should the thread leaders decide that a participant has at any point stopped contributing, made a section that definitely doesn't fit with his Aura group, or in any other way halts the progress of the collab, they are free to notify me to remove him from the list of collab participants which will be put up in this news post as soon as it's finished.

To make life easier, here are the links for the discussion threads:
Neutral Thread
Light Thread
Evil Thread
Fab Thread
Dark Thread

Any additional ideas on how to improve the rules set up so far? Feel free to comment. That's what the nice little button is for.

Well, I finally came back from my month and a half long vacation, and I'm ready to get back to submitting and reviewing. The last 40 days have been awesome, just laying around and doing nothing all day and abusing the natural limits of my liver all night. Still, as great as it was, I must say I'm glad I'm finally home. Which also gives me the chance to get back to my work here on NG.

--------------------------------------

As for new projects, I've made about a dozen bits and pieces that could be considered WIPs, but the only one I see getting finished any time soon is my upcoming MAC8-Trembling Madness song. I've decided to go a little further away from the usual Madness songs, but keep the dark atmosphere of them, so I though that making an industrial song would be a good idea. Well, you'll be the judge of that when it's done.

EDIT: The song is done, and can be checked out here: =Onslaught=

--------------------------------------

As for reviewing: I have this extremely polite almost-samaritan habit of returning the favor of reviewing. Basically this means:

IF YOU WANT A REVIEW FOR YOUR SONG, REVIEW ONE OF MY SONGS.

If you have reviewed my song, and feel that I haven't done the same for one of your songs, feel free to notify me in a comment on this news post.

--------------------------------------

As for orders for music: out of the same good samaritan way of functioning I've mentioned before, I'm willing to do songs for flash artists that need them for their work. If I feel like doing the type of song you requested, of course. I've done a couple similar songs, and so far, the authors were more than pleased. As long as I'm credited in the flash, I can do songs in pretty much any genre. And remember, kids: Audio whoring is everything!

Getting back to work, MAC8, reviews

There, the competition for the theme of carbonwater's series of Flash movies, "Apartment In Space" is finished, and I'm proud to say that my theme was the winner (out of a majestic number of ten suggestions). I guess I tried to make the song as good as possible, but I couldn't exactly fit all of my ideas inside the 15 second limit.

Make sure to check out the upcoming sequels of the series as soon as they get submitted, and in the meantime check out the first episode, posted back in 2007!

This is a post.
It has been posted here.
That's why it appeared here as my latest post.
(It was caused by the fact that I posted it here)
It would not be here if i haven't posted it.
In order of posting it, I had to press the 'Post' button.
Than it became a post.
That means it was posted.
You can have a post too.
Fascinating, isn't it?
