Medieval

Really good medieval song, it reminds me of the background music in the works of Adam Phillips. It was very well composed, loved the way the guitar and flute enhanced each others melody. The percussions gave it a very forest-like, folkish feel (which was also caused by the choice of instruments). Great work, I really enjoyed listening to it!

linkbryan1126 responds:

thank you, i had started this but only had the flute and guitar in the beggining, and then when i couldnt sleep i just went inspiration nuts, im glad it turned out well enough for people to enjoy it

Good background song

This is a great nackground song, on the track of Matt Uelmen, but it somewhat reminded me of the Burmecian theme of FF IX (probably because of the rain, though). It was well made, the melody flowed very soothingly, just like any atmospheric song should sound like. The ending was a bit creepy, all of the sounds sort of created a feeling of eeriness. Anyway, it's a very good song, I hope you'll make more. Congratulations!

WarlordXMaster responds:

Thank you very much, if by any chance you know where I can get more loops of ambient pieces, let me know. =) Hehe, it's funny how this sounds different to everyone and let's everyone picture their own thing. Once again thank you.

TMNT!

Haha, really felt like singing 'Teenage mutant ninja turtles...'! XD

Good song, but you should work on the recording process, since the sound came out a bit fuzzy. Perhaps reducing the bass would help.

riccomadboy responds:

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been trying to find ways to get rid of that fuzz, so I will try your suggestion.

Good cover

Well, you definitely made a satisfying cover of this song, it really sounds just like in the original game! Really good, and it was always one of my favorite songs. The only thing that may require some attention is the length of the separated guitar chords, i believe they should last longer, but have a sort of decrescendo.

Still, it's a great song! Congrats!

sajo1 responds:

thank you! (the guitar synth i use was acting weird with the release of the notes)

Good!

The story is great, really liked it. It had a sort of Poe-ish feel to it. Creepy, dark and unresolved. :D

The music is just as good as in the second part, but I would advise using the high bells in a separate melody, instead of simply copying and covering the standard melody. This is great work, listening to the songs was great, but reading along them was a whole new experience! I had a lot of fun listening to these, I hope the other users will, too.

HMS-Productions responds:

Thanks for checking it out man.

I actually have no idea what the mirror the leaf or the photo mean and i have no idea what should happen to him :D

Was wondering what people might come up with after reading it lol

The story continues

Hm, interesting plot twist, seems like something that could be used as a beginning to a horror/thriller movie.

As for the music, I would suggest creating a louder, slower bass line to go beneath the sections before the third minute. Without a steady note in the background, such melodies often sound as though they were cut into pieces, especially since it does have a sort of 'jumping' note pattern.

Otherwise, it's good, really interesting to listen too along with the story.

P.S. Don't bother checking the Current Score, some A-holes are currently rating all new submissions on the Audio portal with 0s and 1s.

HMS-Productions responds:

yeah I didnt really take the time to smooth this one out, I get impatient easily.
Half the tunes in there are me randomly hitting away on the keyboard :)

Yeah I know what you mean about those a-holes lol, I used to be one of them who would go around pressing 0 just to see how low I could bring it down... Now i know how it feels i guess :P

Hopping madness!

Very cheerful platform-action game background song! I really liked it, it reminded me of the good old times when people were fascinated with the five and a half pixels they had on their consoles even though there was no plot or real meaning to the game!!! XD

Great melody and drums, the octave-jumping bass gave it an extra happy feel. Very cool submission, I expect to see it in a submission soon enough! Cheers!

Father-of-Death responds:

Thanks man! :D

Audio tales

Very good song, I really liked the concept of giving a sort of written background story so that people could really feel into the music. I think that you made a good musical interpretation of what you were trying to tell in this story.

Musically, the song was really good, with interesting instrument sections (I especially liked the bells at the end, they gave the song a mystical, perhaps even a bit creepy atmosphere).

I enjoyed listening to the song, i hope you'll submit the other parts soon!

HMS-Productions responds:

the other parts are already done, just give me 10 or so minutes to write up the story for it :D

EDIT: only allowed two submissions per day :(

Three thumbs up!

Slight improvements? Sounds really good!

My opinion hasn't changed- it's a great futuristic song with a very good beat. The slide-ins are still very sci-fi and groovy. Very intense, would be a good background track for a skate video or something similar.

Well, I liked it before, and I like it now! Keep on being creative!

P.S. Cyberpunk really is a genre, but a genre in movies and literature! XD

starspawn responds:

lol a few. i'll have to look into some cyberpunk sutff in that case :D skate videos have such good music! (been skating for 5 years) thanks for the review again :)

Really good song!

Wow, i didn't know i had a soft spot for soft rock. XD

Reminded my a bit of Coldplay, even though it was a lot better, more lively and guitar-oriented than their work. Personally, i loved the slow intro, and the cut-out feel it had, similar to the beginning of 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots pt. 1' by The Flaming Lips. It is good to see that not all songs on the portal start with a straight-out classical beginning. Really liked it, but it has the feel of a song that would require some vocals to be 100% done. Just my opinion.

The instruments were well composed, and every one of them had a significant role in the build of this song. Actually, that is what makes this song beautiful.

Great work, keep it up!

Musical-Pants responds:

Thanks, I think that having a production time of a month, rather than a few days, helped this one a lot.
Lyrics are a real possibility, if I could just find someone to record them!
Appreciate the review, I consider this to be my best song yet.

I write music. You listen to music. What a strange coincidence, isn't it?
